There have been a number of stories I’ve seen over the last ten years or so concerning the work of medical science to stop and even reverse the process of human aging and death.  We know why we age, and we know how to stop and reverse the process.  The next step is developing the techniques to do so.

Can We End Aging?

I believe this is a sign to us that we are nearing the end of the age.  God put death into place because of sin, and God numbers the days of each person according to His will.  Just after the fall of humanity into sin we see a text that directly addresses this issue.

“And the Lord God said, ‘The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever'” (Genesis 3:22).

“A person’s days are determined;
you have decreed the number of his months
and have set limits he cannot exceed” (Job 14:5).

Why does God not allow man to live forever?  We are sinners and that was the punishment for sin (Genesis 2:17).  We know that humanity is wicked (Romans 3:10-18), so God determined that we would have a limited time to continue on in our criminal behavior.

According to the text in Job God has determined exactly how many months we will live on this Earth, and He has set limits we cannot exceed.  He can also add years to people’s lives if He chooses (2 Kings 20:6).

1) So in light of all that, humanity is to the point in our scientific knowledge that we are getting close to undoing that which God has put into place.  We are going against His will and sovereignty.  God said in Genesis 3:22 that humanity must not be allowed to live forever in our current state of sinful existence.  Therefore He will send Christ to stop men from living forever in this evil mortality.

2) In Genesis 1:28, God told the human race, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Humanity has filled the whole earth and we have subdued it.  There are currently 7.1 Billion people on the Earth, and we have filled the entire globe.  We have fulfilled and completed what God told us to do.

3) Revelation 11:18, “The nations were angry, and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

I’ve mentioned this before, but I thought I’d include it here too.  Another sign that we find in the Bible is that at the time of the end, humanity will be destroying the Earth.  Jesus comes to put a stop to it as we see in the above verse.  If you look at the destruction that humanity is bringing about on the environment and this planet, we can easily understand how we are at the end of the age.  Here are some articles.

I could go on and on.  Deny global warming, but the fact that humanity is polluting the planet to a point where it causes death is absolutely clear from the data.
