“Reza Aslan, author of the new book, ‘Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth’ has been interviewed on a host of media outlets in the last week. Riding a publicity wave, the book has surged to #2 on Amazon’s list.
Media reports have introduced Aslan as a ‘religion scholar’ but have failed to mention that he is a devout Muslim.
His book is not a historian’s report on Jesus. It is an educated Muslim’s opinion about Jesus — yet the book is being peddled as objective history on national TV and radio.”

I wanted to make my Christian brothers and sisters aware of this book in case it comes up in conversation with someone. The liberal, biased media love it. Of course I am not surprised. Especially as they are not making their viewers aware that the author is a Muslim.
Basically the book is about the Muslim Jesus, which of course denies everything about Him including:
1) He did not die on the cross (correction: Most of Islam teaches this, but the author of this book thinks he did die on the cross).
2) Nor was He resurrected.
It is an Islamic attack on the Bible using the most liberal arguments. I find this hypocritical because if the Muslims applied the liberal standard they use against the Bible, the Koran would be just as “mythical.”
Mohammed is a false prophet because he denies the truth about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“And the Lord said to me, ‘The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart'” (Jeremiah 14:14).
“…there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:7b-9).
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1).
James White has excellent Christian resources in regard to Islam. He has also formally debated a number of Islamic scholars.
