The Remaining Review (BOO!)
Synopsis: “THE REMAINING is an action-packed supernatural thriller that addresses questions of life, love and belief against an apocalyptic backdrop. A group of close friends gather for a wedding, but the celebration is shattered by a series of cataclysmic events and enemies foretold by biblical end-times prophecies. The survivors face a horrifying, uncertain future as they scramble for safety, but as their world collapses around them in chaos and terror will they choose real life through faith, or just try to survive?”
I went to see this film today. It was very interesting (at first), and tells the story of a group of friends who are left behind after the Rapture occurs. It is a horror genre based film so it is quite intense (PG-13 rating). When I bought my ticket the person at the ticket booth asked me what it was about, so I had the opportunity to give her the synopsis. The ticket taker also asked me what it was about, and he said the theater had received no promotional material or information at all about the picture. He was an older gentleman and I thought it was neat that he used the older term for a movie when we were talking.
As a horror film I enjoyed it. As a supposedly Biblical film, it was not okay. For being a partial “found footage” type, the visually represented judgements were a nice visual even if I don’t necessarily agree with the timing. The director has stated that his interpretation of the Rapture is a spiritual catching away. I believe it is a spiritual and bodily catching away (Jesus and Paul make that very clear).

Prophecy: The Seven Holy Days
By: Dr. William Ayles
(original article website here)
AUTHOR’S NOTE
Can Christ return “any day” from Heaven?
How would Christ answer that question?
How would the apostle Paul answer that question?
How would the Old Testament Law answer that question? …
INTRODUCTION
The seven holy days in the Law of Moses foreshadowed major events that pertain to the first and second coming of Christ and reveal God’s plan to save the “Earth” from Satan—which includes Christ’s return for his church. These holy days make known not only how God would rescue souls, but how God would defeat Satan on the battlefield—both in the spiritual realm and in the flesh and blood realm. The prophetic holy days disclose knowledge of God’s vision—especially as it concerns prophecy and our place in it.

The Assembly of a New World Order
“A world order of states affirming individual dignity and participatory governance, and cooperating internationally in accordance with agreed-upon rules, can be our hope and should be our inspiration.” – Henry Kissinger August 29, 2014 (Article here)
“—Dr. Kissinger served as national security adviser and secretary of state under Presidents Nixon and Ford. Adapted from his book World Order, to be published Sept. 9 by the Penguin Press.”
The Tribulation Time Line
There are a lot of arguments about what order things will happen during the Tribulation period just prior to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to the Earth. The biggest question usually is related to the timing of the Rapture of the Church.
Isaiah 26:19-21, 27:1 give us the timeline for the Tribulation events. It is a general overview, but potent in its Biblical evidence. The Rapture will happen, the Tribulation will commence, and then the Second Coming occurs. See below.
The Rapture
Isaiah 26:19 But your dead will live, Lord;
their bodies will rise—
let those who dwell in the dust
wake up and shout for joy—
your dew is like the dew of the morning;
the earth will give birth to her dead.
20 Go, my people, enter your rooms
and shut the doors behind you;
hide yourselves for a little while
until his wrath has passed by.
As you read through this text, you see that the resurrection of the people of God occurs prior to God’s wrath being poured out. Those who are dead rise first (1 Thessalonians 4:16), then those who are alive are changed and are caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:17, John 11:25-26).
Notice what the Lord tells them in v20. He tells them to enter their rooms and shut the doors behind them for there are many rooms in the Lord’s house, and the the Lord comes to take them to be where He resides (John 14:2-3, Matthew 25:10). Hide yourselves for a little while. For the people of God are not appointed to suffer His wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9). He keeps them from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world (Revelation 3:10). And that is the point that is made here in Isaiah. God hides His people until His wrath has passed by.
I believe the door is important because John sees a door open in Heaven in Revelation 4:1 as well as being a key image in Matthew 25:1-13. The door is opened and then it is closed until the Second Coming of Christ to the Earth. The closed chamber of the groom and bride is key in the Jewish wedding tradition, and Jesus fulfills the role of the groom perfectly. The groom and bride are shut away and hidden for seven days. Then the wedding feast is celebrated, which occurs just before Christ’s Second Coming in Revelation 19.

Wrong Again (Scientists)
“Nearly a decade ago, researchers discovered the remains of what was thought to be a new human species and dubbed the ‘Hobbit’ human for its short stature and small skull.
While the 2004 discovery on the Indonesian island Flores was hailed as ‘the most important find in human evolution for 100 years’ at the time, more recent analysis debunks that Homo florensiensis was a distinct human species. A team of international researchers now think the 15,000-year-old bones represent someone who had Down syndrome.”
