Turin Shroud ‘is not a medieval forgery’

The Turin Shroud is not a medieval forgery, as has long been claimed, but could in fact date from the time of Christ’s death, a new book claims.

Experiments conducted by scientists at the University of Padua in northern Italy have dated the shroud to ancient times, a few centuries before and after the life of Christ.

Many Catholics believe that the 14ft-long linen cloth, which bears the imprint of the face and body of a bearded man, was used to bury Christ’s body when he was lifted down from the cross after being crucified 2,000 years ago.

The analysis is published in a new book, “Il Mistero della Sindone” or The Mystery of the Shroud, by Giulio Fanti, a professor of mechanical and thermal measurement at Padua University, and Saverio Gaeta, a journalist.

Biological Machines

Animals, insects, bacteria, viruses etc are genetically coded biological machines. They have programmed intelligence and emotion that is part of their design.

What separates us from all other biological machines? We are conscious, living beings created in God’s image, which is soul and spirit (Genesis 2:7, John 4:24). God didn’t have a physical body until Jesus was born into the world.

Our physical bodies are biological machines and designed as a vehicle for us to interact in this physical universe (2 Peter 1:13). Without the spirit and soul, the human body would be like a plane without a pilot.

Our intelligence, emotion, and conscious awareness are not genetically encoded. Meaning, when the body is broken, the person (spirt/soul) can leave the body existing in the non-physical reality of spirit (2 Corinthians 5:8). Though the spirit can perceive the physical world in some manner. I’ve read scientists are now talking about how the spirit might have a quantum consciousness.

What happens when a non-human biological machine dies? I believe it would be something akin to shutting down your computer. Perhaps the non-human intelligence could be rebooted somehow from the genetic coding of the animal including the memories that were recorded. Animals do have a type of memory.

I love my new ant habitat. :)

To the People of Israel

I want the people of Israel to know that the people of The United States of America stands with you as you defend yourselves.  Many of us pray for your protection and victory over your enemies.

We believe you.  Shoulder-to-shoulder and back-to-back.

If it were possible I’d put on a uniform, pick up a weapon, and defend the nation of Israel with my own blood just as as I would my own nation.  That is how precious your nation is to many of us.

My King is Jewish, and I love His people.

The One Who Never Fails (Jesus Culture)

In the midst of the trouble, pain, and suffering… When its dark and hope seems lost… When those we have known abandon us… When nations and governments fail… We have a solid a rock that will never be moved, a rock that will become   a mountain.

That rock is our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Whose love will never fail… who will never abandon us… who will always keep His word and promises… who will always tell us the truth… whose government shall be everlasting filled with love, righteousness, and justice.

Isaiah 9:6-7, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.  He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.  The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”

A Prayer After the 2012 USA Election

Good morning Jesus, my Lord and King.

You are holy, beautiful, and true. Your majesty fills the heavens, and your name is glorified above all things. You are absolutely sovereign and in control. If two sparrows cannot fall to the ground outside of your will, then nothing happens on this earth outside of your will. I pray that your will be done on this planet. I pray that your kingdom would come quickly.

Thank you for all your blessings and all the good things you do for us. You sustain our life. You give us each breath, and every beat of our heart. You provide food, water, clothing, jobs, and everything we need to survive in this world. Thank you most of all that you died in our place. Thank you that you came to save us. Thank you that we are saved through your blood when we trust in you, saved from the wrath and vengeance to come.

Forgive me for the sin that lingers in this flesh. I desire to be good every moment, and I ask that you would give me the strength to always do what is right in your eyes. Help me to overcome myself, my own worst enemy. Help me to love and follow you every day of my life. Help me to do good to those around me, and take care of my family, my friends, my coworkers, the widows, the orphans, the weak, and those in need. Help me to be kind and loving to everyone. Help me to be the Christian you have called us all to be.

Celebration

The dark gray, steel door opened slowly. A man appears wearing dirty, torn clothing. His skin where visible is ripped and bloody, and his head is covered with a black hood. Wrist bound behind him are red with the shackles he wears as he is dragged along by two thugs.

Half pulled and stumbling he ascends blue carpeted stairs. The words and voice of the reelected President echo around the massive celebration. Words such as “hope” and “dreams” and “…the task of perfecting our union moves forward” boom from the massive speakers.

Dragged forward to a side stage, a dim light grows in illumination. There in the midst of the celebration stands a guillotin. The man is unable to see his coming death, but he can sense its cold, clawed fingers stretching out toward him. As the blade falls the crowd cheers.

This is How a USA Citizen is Treated (Election 2012)

This is how a USA Citizen is treated.

#1 Get license in Texas a year and a half ago. DPS puts in wrong day for birthday. 8/31 instead of 8/13.

#2 Register to vote.

#3 Problem with registration due to wrong birthday on state issued identification. Letter sent. I call and they had not put in the right year. Year corrected.  “Do I need to do anything else?” I ask. “No. That is all we need.”
